ANGER is an emotion that is uncomfortable and often painful. Sometimes it is confusing. The fact that it has such power is awesome both to those who feel it within themselves and to those who feel it from others.
For many Catholics who have sincerely believed that the FEELING of anger in itself constitutes sinfulness, it will take time to develop an equally sincere belief that the FEELING of anger is a normal human emotion. It is not the FEELING of anger that is wrong, but the hurtful or sinful behavior that might come from it.
We will listen to a CD presentation by Deacon Dr. Bob McDonald, a medical doctor, psychotherapist, and a deacon in Ontario, Canada and over a period of three sessions discuss basic themes:
What anger is and how it develops
Understanding the different kinds of anger, such as the difference between just and sinful anger
Effective and ineffective response to anger
The destructive consequence of sin
The understanding of “moods” and how they affect our daily lives and relationships with family members
How we can overcome our sinful choices of behavior which leads to family arguments
How to forgive
Join us for this enlightening series of discussions.
