Sacred Heart parish community gathered to celebrate the central mysteries of our faith, the paschal event, during the Easter Vigil. The Easter season marks a very great step in the faith journey of those who have been seeking to become members of the Catholic Church. It is an ending of intense preparation for the sacraments of initiation, but it is, at the same time, a beginning of their lives as fully initiated members of the Catholic Church.
Through the celebration of the sacraments of initiation - Baptism, Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist - we welcomed our Catechumen, John Tringo, and our Candidate, Alex Track, as full members of the Catholic Church.
Sacramental initiation does not end with the receiving of Easter sacraments. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults provides for final period of post-baptismal catechesis or MYSTAGOGY, that is, a reflection the Easter mysteries. Our newest members of the Catholic Church will continue to meet together weekly.
We thank our pastor, Fr. Marc, and the parishioners for all their prayers and
support while remembering that the journey of conversion continues for all of us throughout our lives as we try to live out our baptismal commitment.
Have a blessed and joyous Easter Season.
