Veneration of a Relic of Blessed Solanus Casey

You're invited to venerate a relic of Fr. Solanus Casey, O.F.M. Cap. in our Family of Parishes in late October. The relic will be available for veneration in each of our parishes from Friday, October 25 through Tuesday, October 29. The Veneration Schedule is as follows:

After the 5:00 PM Mass

Sacred Heart Parish, Grosse Ile
After the 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM Masses

St. Roch Parish, Flat Rock
After the 9:00 AM Mass

St. Timothy Parish, Trenton
From 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Tuesday, October 29
Our Lady of the Woods Parish, Woodhaven

What Is A Relic?
The term relics of the Saints principally signifies the bodies - or notable parts fo the bodies - of the Saints who were models of faith and members of Christ's mystical Body and as temples of the ​Holy Spirit and who now dwell in Heaven, but who once lived on earth.

How Should I Venerate A Relic?
When venerating a relic it is appropriate to honor the saint by performing a simple exterior gesture. We can kiss or touch the glass case that houses the relic, or simply stand near the relic in a prayerful attitude while invoking the intercession of the saint.
