We Have What the World Needs - Hope!

“Always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that people see in you.” 1 Pt. 3:15.

We are the richest country in the world, yet we lead the world in anxiety levels, with depression as the leading cause of morbidity in the US. What people need is HOPE! We have the answer, Good News that brings Hope and Peace but how do we share it?

We are forming a team to lead the efforts to execute an evangelization vision and strategy for our Family of Parishes, FOP. To look more and more like our name - Downriver Missionaries for Christ.

While there has been much talk and ink spilled about becoming more missionary and evangelizing - it is time for action. There were some very positive initiatives starting at several of our parishes and then “COVID”.

Since then, we have also become a Family of Parishes, and our new vision and strategy has taken on a much broader approach. To that end I am looking to form a team of about 12 - 15 people from across our different
parishes to help lead the implementation of the vision which has been crafted and approved by our pastors and the leadership team they appointed. I’m very excited to have their final blessing on what I believe the Holy Spirit has guided us to.

We are not looking for theologians or catechists. We simply need people with the following qualifications:

•  Desire to share what God is doing in and through you.
•  Love other people as displayed by an attitude of hospitality.
•  Willingness to let God use you as a channel of grace and healing.

It will not be the sole responsibility of the evangelization leadership team to execute and implement but to lead that effort.
