The Mother Teresa Scholarship was created by the Sacred Heart parish community in 1997 to commemorate the life and work of Mother Teresa. We have combined the award with the Knights of Columbus, Blessed Fr. McGivney, whose life, legacy and zest was for proclaiming the Gospel and concerns for his brothers and sisters.

Vacation Bible School will take place Monday - Thursday, June 16 - 19 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Register your child for Vacation Bible School and let them step back in time to ancient Egypt.

On Sunday, April 27, Feast of Divine Mercy, immediately following the 11:00 AM Liturgy, in Room B in the Parish Office, we will view a DVD called “St. Faustina.” The film will summarize this unique vision and promise given by Jesus to this holy Polish sister, and will be followed by a discussion about the unusual plenary indulence.

Jesus is Alive! Jesus is Risen! Alleluia! We invite you to deepen your understanding about the Paschal Mystery by attending this Adult Faith Formation series on Tuesdays. April 29 - May 13 in the Parish Center at 6:30 PM.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger, Bishop of Tucson, as Archbishop of Detroit.

Since its inception, Sacred Heart Rosary Makers have made and distributed more than 125,000 Mission Rosaries worldwide! This does not include our fulfillment of requests from hospitals statewide for rosaries. Rosaries are available for purchase every Sunday in the Gathering Space.

Grosse Ile Interfaith Council is hosting Christnet for two weeks in 2025. Week one will be hosted at St. Thomas Lutheran Church from February 2 - 9. Week two will be hosted at GI Presbyterian Church from March 30 - April 4. Volunteers are needed for both weeks.

The RCIA is the process by which people become members of the Catholic Church. If one member suffers in the body of Christ which is the Church, all the members suffer with that member’ (1 Corinthians 12:26). For this reason, those who are baptized into Christ and nourished at the same table of the Lord are responsible for one another…. So too when a member of Christ’s Body dies, the faithful are called to a ministry of consolation to those who have suffered the loss of one whom they love.

Sacred Heart is currently conducting a Capital Campaign to make needed renovations, repairs and improvements to our parish buildings and grounds.

Beginning on Sunday, June 2, our 5:00 PM Mass on Sundays will be held on the front lawn of the Rectory located at 21526 East River Road. Come and celebrate the Eucharist, while enjoying the beauty of our island community. In case of inclement weather, the Mass will be held in St. Anne Chapel.
