Reconciliation

Adult Reconciliation: Weekly Reconciliation is offered on Sundays at 4:15 p.m., before the 5:00 p.m. Mass in the Church. You may also call Fr. Marc for an appointment at 313-333-6608.

First Reconciliation: Families with children age seven and up are welcome to participate in an upgraded preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The program is offered twice each year, once during Advent and once during Lent.

Important indicators of a child’s readiness for this sacrament include: an ability to distinguish between sin and breaking rules and making a mistake, a desire for forgiveness and trust in God’s forgiving love, the ability to express sincere sorrow, the awareness of the need for change, and the ability to describe wrongdoing in his/her own words.

The program centers on assisting parents in developing their child’s understanding of and attitude toward the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The entire family is invited to come to the formation sessions to share ideas, thoughts, and feelings about the sacrament. More than one child in a family may prepare to receive this sacrament at the same time.
